On January 26, 2020, the basketball world was shocked. The legendary Los Angles Lakers shooting guard Kobe Bryant had died in a helicopter crash. Kobe’s helicopter had gone down over Calabasas California with 9 people in the helicopter including his talented middle daughter Giana. Too many people this was devastating, not only had Lakers fans lost a legend but a generation of basketball fans had lost someone who changed the game dramatically. Kobe Bryant was a very successful person both on the court and off. Much of that success can be attributed to his so-called “Mamba Mentality”. Kobe Bryant invented this “Mamba Mentality” and used it every day to be the best person he could be. The “Mamba Mentality” is the mentality in which every day you try to become a better version of yourself than you were the day before. With this constant pursuit of improving himself, Kobe was able to live his dreams and accomplish many extraordinary acts. It is to my belief that with the passing of Kobe Bryant it would only be right to honor him through the implementation of the “Mamba Mentality” into everyone’s lives. Why would someone not want to become the best version of themselves attainable? With the “Mamba Mentality,” nothing is impossible. Although the process of reaching one’s goal through the use of the “Mamba Mentality” may be extremely difficult it will nonetheless accomplish whatever you set out to do. Kobe Bryant was a devout follower of the “Mamba Mentality”. While still in high school Kobe would wake up and practice from 5 am- 7 am before school then continue practicing through the day after school. Kobe Bryants “Mamba Mentality” did, in fact, show extreme feats of hard work, however, in the end, it all paid off. With the implication of the “Mamba Mentality” into your lifestyle, you will experience the accomplishing of your goals and the betterment of yourself.
